    Hello All,

I just picked up this unusual oil pan for SBC.

Driver’s side dip stick. Either aluminum or magnesium.

Can anyone tell me the manufacturer’s name and exact application?

    Maybe it is for marine?

I know it is not “hen-way”…thanks!

Looks like it would be for a dragster or a boat ? with no allowance for a crossmember.

I would guess boat, or possibly a genset. They use cast pans a lot. Most other applications shy away from cast pans as they fracture instead of dent when hit. Based on the black color maybe Merc Crusier? I have several Merc Crusier SBC cast pans, but none with the side bump outs. Did you get the pump pickup with the pan?

From my armchair it sure looks like magnesium. Looks at the bare spot, it's dark grey.

Got to love the HAMB. Oil pan for an obscure application and you have the answer and pictures in about two hours!

I knew I recognized that oil pan from an article I read, may not have been from the HAMB.
It is really cool, would have been great to use it on my roadster engine, mine has the same side sump configuration, designed for road course applications.

I’ll take some screenshots later on and PM them to you.
After I was shown, it still took awhile to get the hang of it.
Edit: But I’ve 3 daughters, 22-30 years old. All have iPhones, today’s equivalent to grandkids and computers;)
