Hey gang! I hit the search for this but couldn't find quite what I'm looking for. I'm out bending up some pretty fuel lines for the girlfriends falcon wagon, and my thoughts turned to fuel filters. What I need is small preferably steel filter that has female 5/16" inverted flare ends. I know that G.M. used something to this effect at some point or another, but I need a part number or at least close on an application. Any body have any ideas? This is going on a way mild 200 c.i. Ford six, so I don't need any thing too exotic. Thanks, Chip
GF62C was my favorite. It has since been since discontinued. Socal even sold it for a long time. Makes me sad. When I sell the 54 I may just hold onto mine.
Cool Duece... I wouldn't mind knowing the brand on that one for another project, but I should have been a bit more specific. I need something small (like about 1 1/2" or 2" diameter) that I can plumb into my line to the carb. Thank you very much though!
Let me check my little old real parts store here in town tomorrow, They always seem to have older stuff on the shelf. If I'm lucky, we'll figure out how to get one to you...
Sometimes you can find those GF-62C Delco filter kits on eBay. The last time I saw one there I think it went for around $50.00. I should have stocked up on those when I was a AC-Delco salesman. They were about $20.00 jobber price. I don't know if the elements are still available or not. I think GF-58 is the correct part number on the element.
The element is still available. I bought 6 about 3/4 weeks ago at my local Chevrolet dealer. He ordered them and it took 3 or 4 days ... but he got them. .
Napa 3481 would be close...Has 1/4 pipe at each end but once they get there they should be able to find one with the 5/16 inverted flare ends, probably can see it in napa.com...
This one is not steel but it is a small one & the filter element is readily available. AC Delco filter P/N GF 48. This filter was used on all kinds of applications. I have seen them listed for late 40's/early 50's Caddy's and also for tri power big block Corvette's. These are also reproduced and the packaging reads "reproduced using original GM tooling" the box in the pics is about 4 inches square.
