Technical Small parts cleaner suggestions please.

1) Extra large peanut ****er jar (or equivilant size) plastic jar with a screw-on lid.
2) Pour in about 2" of your favorite cleaner (simple green, cheap paint thinner, old stale gasoline).
3) Dump in old fasteners, bearings, etc.
4) Screw on the lid and shake. When you get tired, have your kids shake it.
