I am looking for a small steering box for a tractor project I am working on. I need to find the smallers power steering box I can find.

If anybody has a pointer, I'd appreciate it. Heck if I can just get a rotary spool valve, I can just plumb it to a hydraulic cylinder and run it that way, but I am having trouble finding what I need.

    Any help's appreciated.

You may want to look for a Char-Lynn unit. They are a hydraulic torque multiplier that goes in the steering shaft, leaving the existing steering box in place. They come in various sizes, from small tractor all the way up to earth moving equipment. Here is a crappy photo of one installed in a racecar, this one is about 4" or so in diameter.

You might want to check out the Simplicity tractor line. The Sunstar has a power steering unit on it. Uses a slave cyl like Ford did. Small Engine parts warehouse might be a help. www.sepw.com
