Does anyone know what paint color is on the Smithy mufflers. I know they call it hammertone blue but there's not much hammertone to it. Was wanting to repaint the brand new ones I have.

Had a dual exhaust setup installed for our flathead. Had it done in stainless and my father in law decided he wanted to polish it out. We never looked that close at how the hangers were installed. The guy bent up some L brackets and welded them to the tops of the mufflers to attach to the hangers. Fugly ***ed job and he ground away a bunch of the paint in the process.

I know the paint won't last very long but it's the principal of the thing. Want it to start out looking good when it finally hits the street.

    Johnny-Thanks, that'll work.

I was going to paint them black but then thought it would be a nice contrast under the car. Everything is painted or powdercoated black. Polished pipe and blue mufflers should look sweet.

The only problem with your contrast is that it will only look good until you start the car for the first time.

Oh and by the way after about 100 miles on the old Flatty you will want to ditch the Smithys anyways:) At least thats what happened with my T modified.

Nope. Except for deuce flathead radiator from Walker it's all Chevy. T5 and small 10 bolt rear. One of these days I'll put a build thread up. Getting close to the end so I might wait til then.
