This just took the top spot on my favorite '55 g***er list.

 

Sounds like a must see movie. I'm sure they pumped it full of drama and stupid **** but gives me a great excuse to hit the theatre.

 

OH MAN!! I hope it's half as good as I remember them being.

 

Even if its cheesy you have to watch these movies. Not to many good car movies to choose from these days

 

i wonder if hollywood got a car movie right this time. god knows they screwed alot of them up.

 

I read that Prudhomme and McEwen are both involved in the production, so hopefully it will be more accurate.

sweeeeeeet! finally something worth seeing

 

I was one of those kids that spent his paper route money buying all those Revell models of the snake and ****oose.

 

Cool! You see those kids playing with the hot wheel track? That was my childhood. My aunt started working for Mattel in the late 60s so I had all the latest hot wheels including the Snake/****oose cars and dragsters. Thats memories for me. Can't wait to see the movie. Surprised to see Joe the Pharaoh.

About 12 years ago I was out to dinner with my late best friend Tom McCoury(Buick Wagonmaster) and his boyhood pal Don Prudhomme. They were joking about how mattel really boosted Don.
I said oh yeah, that set got me into drag racing. They both looked at me and said how old are you again, and gave me a dirty look.........lol Both great guys and i really miss Tom

 

Hell yes get the little women and the popcorn and set in for this could be good.

 

Watching that movie trailer gave me goose bumps. Lots of great memories of drag racing in the late 60's-70's. The best time in drag racing.

I hope there is "drama" ie: a good storyline in the movie! Otherwise the movie will die and you will never see another drag racing/hot rod movie ever made. I want to see a movie with more than cars drag racing...and so does 99% of everyone.

If this movie works how about next a Jungle Jim / Jungle Pam Movie?

 

Looks good! My first movie memorie was AG at 5 years old. LilT is 5 now and already can recite the lines. This WILL be a FAMILY movie for us!

this is gonna be awesome. i grew up at OCIR and i remember back being able to basically walk thru the pro pits with these guys standing out there in their driving pants and t-shirts, talking (yelling, cursing) or working (yelling, cursing), not in a cozy hospitality rig. such an AWESOME time in drag racing.

 

I'm so stoked for this. It doesn't even make sense how excited I am.

 

this is going to be good seen them race in bakersfield back in 76 what a show

 

last movie i went to see was ET. i was forced. could this be the one that gets me back?? tune in early next year! ( i'll probably wait for the dvd though.)

 

I hope Hollywood gets it right, we need a good racing family film. I think the last time I went to the movies was to see Bad Santa, I think.
