Im working on a new project and thought some of you guys might like a sneak peak! Im pretty excited about them, they have a cool unique look to them.

If you have any input, good or bad, send it my way.

The boxing plates are 10 gauge (1/8") for Model A's and will be the entire length.

    Brian :)

P.S. I may do 32 fords in the future also.

Look good, how is the strength going to be with the lightening holes?

Wow so many replies so soon!

Tman - Im in Bradshaw, its halfway between Lincoln and Grand Island by York.

Boones - Yes, I do plan on selling them.

Ghost - Not 100% nailed down on price yet, more than the undimpled ones of course, as I need to recoup some of my equipment cost, and it takes awhile to dimple them. I will let you know when Its nailed down. I will try to keep them on hand ready to ship next day after I get going on them good. But for now, if your going to be interested, send me a PM with your contact info, and I can probably have a few sets ready to ship in a week or so, and I will send them out in a first come first serve basis until Im caught up.

lowelife - The strength will be a substantial improvement over an unboxed ch***is, and I cannot see the lightening holes causing a strength issue. Picture a truss for an example, not completely solid, but has the strength were it needs it. The dimpled holes actually seem to help provide lateral stiffness as they do not bow as easily as the undimpled ones.

Mr48 - The plan is to get some made and into the hands of fellow Rod builders to make some pretty rad rides! It puts an already used method to use on an existing product to put a new unique touch on projects of the builders who would like to use them.

it will acctually make the frame stronger and more flexable, did that on my 32 frame (not dimpled, just drilled), and it looks cool also.

After I get ahead on the model A's and upgrading my press, I will start on the 32s.

The going rate as of now, is going to be $325, and I can ship them in the US for $25 UPS.

I may run a special sometime when I get some stock built up, or if I have a reliable HAMBer promise to supply me in a timely manner some build and finished pics of the install.

Gr***hopper, I am hoping to start on them maybe next week, I will definitely post it up when I do.

Just a reminder! First HAMBer that wants a set in the USA, I will ship for Free! Offer still stands!

If they are still here by the end of the week, maybe Ill have to get creative and think of something to make the deal a little sweeter!

Holes in the boxing plates make all the mounting nuts accessible without resorting to nutserts. Excellent.

Ive worked some on the 32 layout, I am making sure my layout leaves plenty of room for the front crossmember area, and the rear crossmember area, also were some C notch the frame, and as far as motor mounts and center crossmembers, I am leaving enough room in between holes that there should be sufficient room in between holes for people to run different combinations of mounts.

Ok, now for the good news, Ive sold some dimpled A sets, but none from the HAMB posts yet, and I gotta stick to what I said, and make the deal a little sweeter for the first HAMBer who wants a model A set, so....

Free shipping, and Ill knock an additional $5 off the price now, and either every week, or every time I bump it to the top, until its sweet enough for somebody! :)

    So $320 w/ Free S/H right now.

Anyone have any preference on the 32 plates layout? I am debating on whether or not to put any holes between the rear c notch area, and were the rear cross member goes.

Right now, I have stopped just shy of the area were some may C notch the plates to provide as much strength as possible in that thin section, and have started again with holes past the area were the rear cross member goes. It kind of leaves a blank spot without any holes in between there, but it almost looks like they dont belong if I do put 1 or 2 at most in the area.

    Any opinions?

Ionia Hotrod Shop makes 32 plates like you are doing already. I bought plates from them for my 34 as well. Here's how they look installed. Very nice product. Good luck. The more the merrier I say. I have no idea if they are doing Model A stuff but you can check if you like to see if your prices are compe***ive.

The ones I have drawn up will have holes going clear up to the front, and wont be as close to the edges as the front holes are on the frame in the picture. They are also going to have holes the entire length, but there is enough space between holes in the right places for motor mounts and center crossmember to be welded to and look good. I will also have holes behind the rear cross member.

Its kinda hard to see clear to the back, but it looks like they left the area that I am talking about solid with no holes. That is the area in question that I am looking for opinions on, but I am leaning towards none in that area.

The reason the holes are so close to the edge in the picture is because I modified my frame rails and slimmed them down to add the model a frame horns on the front. Look close and you can see I added 32 reveals to the side of the 34 frame as well. It was a give and take situation. I had no choice since I modified it. It don't bother me as you wont see it when the 58 J-2 371 Olds goes in there. Look at my thread on the Curbspeed Coupe and there are more pictures of the frame and the boxing plates.

It doesn't look like they do model As, all I saw was 32s, and as far as compe***ive goes, my prices are lower than theirs, will be for the 32s also. It may be a biased opinion, but I like mine better also! ;)

Looks like your project is coming right along! Thanks for the input.
