Projects Sneek peek at the Pierce Arrow dash panel I did for my '32

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alchemy, Jan 29, 2010.

  1. Just got my dash from the Brown Santa (ours is more like a hot blonde in reality;))! The casting quality and detail of these is superb! I have a couple ideas on mine, need to talk to a gun engraver I know. He did some bicycle parts for me years ago. Thinking of the Cop Shop Coupe's dash. We shall see.

Jeff, thanks for making some killer products! My brother is lusting after those Stude tailights.

    very inspiring! Thanks for sharing

  4. I do not have mine installed yet. Got a good polish on it so far, no where near finished. Still deciding the center treatment. The castings are almost flawless, found one pinhead bubble, so small you cant see it.

Thanks Tman. I have been corresponding with Alchemy about the dash for my model a roadster with 32 Roadster dash. Looking at the pic that brigrat posted, it looks like it may work for me.

Just got my panel delivered this week. Man what a piece of art. Pictures do not do this justice.

Really nice. Takes some serious vision to tackle something like that, and some real effort to see it through.

I've just sold panel #15 of my 32 panel run. Going to get another half dozen cast soon.

I've never actively advertised my repro panels for sale, but you guys keep PMing about them. These are only shown on the HAMB, so if anybody sees one of my panels in a car they can be sure it's a HAMBer. Our own little exclusive group. Thanks for all the interest guys.

  12. I just received panel #15 today. All I can say is WOW! I've been fondling it since lunch time and have managed to cut out some gauge size templates. The PA scheme seems to work best but I'm exploring the speedo and tach in the center and two others on a diagonal on each end.

Have touched a very fine file around the outside of the raised molding and it doesn't look like it will take beaucoup work to even up the surface for polishing. I'm thinking about engine turning the gauge area before cutting in the holes though.

I think it will turn out killer.

    Thanks Jeff.

I finally was able to mock up the dash in my roadster. I am still working on the stainless insert as I am adding some engine turning on it. I have the Black face Stewart Warner gauges but soon to be replaced by the Twin Blue series, I have everything except the Speedo. I like the look, very different and chances are anybody having the same one is very low, unless of course I run into Jeff at a show.:D

  14. Looks great! I was thinking of having a gun engraver go at the center of mine.

  15. Now that is a great idea! I wish I'd thought of it!

Tman, thats exactly what I was thinking. I want to have some lines engraved in the face of the housing. I think it would look really sharp.

I'm loving the looks of these inserts. I find myself wishing they were not too physically big for my 26 T dash in my RPU.

Unfortunately they won't fit :( as the dash is so small.

A physically smaller unit made that way for my T dash would look killer I think.

My dad and I just received panel numbers 19 and 20. I'm stoked!! The quality is very good. It'll look really cool when I get it done and mounted. I'll post up a pic when it's done.

Thanks guys. Alchemy made a really nice repop. I'm toying with the idea of getting vintage Stewart Warner wings gauges. The only thing holding me back is their price!

yesterday just saw an original Pierce Arrow dash panel going into a 32 roadster that originally appeared in a 1960s little pages. it has the vintage Stewart Warner wing gauges with engine turned panel. absolutely one of the finest things I have ever laid my eyes on.
