My 39 Chevy Pickup. Woke up in Grants New Mexico 12/18 to this. Pushed off the snow and continued to Vegas. No heater, no wipers.........
A few years ago. 60 ford pickup, 48 chevy sedan delivery and 65 pontiac hearse in my back yard. And our 53 pontiac housecar next to the driveway.
I would have never though that your area (38chevy454) would get that much snow given the summer temps when I drive my bike out west!! It LOOKS fun but I'm sure it's a pain in the ass to clean up. Enjoy the winter. PACO
when my cars get snowed in its because i cant get the garage door open to get them out. my rides have only seen snow since i have owned them when i open the door to get in the garage
Man I am so glad I was 17 when I learned that snow was real and not just a TV myth!! Even happier now that I still haven't ever seen it for real! Doc.
Spotted this Buick in Red Deer Alberta a few years back while delivering a car. My 36 GMC when I was building it. 53 DeSoto. My 1937 CCM Cleavland leaning on my 1922 Buick 4 Touring. A buddies 50 Ford int he snow at night.
Got caught in a snow storm in WV on the way to Daytona Turkey run a few years back...............just kept moving until it got warmer.
Great post. Today's society is very different from the early days. After the revolution, property holders were expected to clear the road by their property. Funny, they took it as an earnest responsibility. Not only that, many MAINTAINED the quality of the adjacents road, using their own horses, equipment and materials. But, THEN people helped each other build barns, too, by a sort of reciprocity. I'll leave it at that.
That it is. We just got a couple last night, making a total of 3 inches for the season. What ever happens from here on in, it is going to be a short winter.
] Here are a few of mine. We don't get much snow here. When I lived in northern Ohio I had a 67 Plymouth I didn't see for three months. LOL. That's why I move south. Duane in Tennessee
neon...Your wife is from Tupper lake, N.Y., eh? I have a cousin who has a summer home at Tupper. Does your wife have any knowledge of a family, last name YATES, who have a home on an island in the lake?
I've been looking at my car tarped over and thinking I should just drive the thing all winter. How do you guys in the really snowy places deal with salt? Just don't drive when it's real salty, wash it a ton, or just worry about it after it rusts?
They never used to salt in my area till about 5 years ago or so, (I heard the guy in charge of plowing etc. is from the East and had just taken over) and they started salting a lot for a while, which was very annoying as even salted slush refreezes once you get to -30 and colder... so it was pointless out here... they haven't stopped but they seem to have slowed down a lot and I just wash my truck a lot and very thoroughly, no new rust or damage yet.
This was last year just outside the front door, the calm before the storm---- I left for California------haven't seen snow since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
