^^I cant hit the like ****on after a post like that one nor can I just let it go. I am sorry for your loss and for his families loss. I wouldn't want to be the Escalade driver as well. What a horrible burden to bear.

It might be an old post but still relevant every day we get behind the wheel and its not just steering columns that wreak havoc. Two years back my BIL was severely injured when the air bags in his 2002 GMC failed to ignite. A Toyota pu nailed his truck in the drivers headlight, collapsed the A-pillar and BIL face was crushed. The other driver essentially walked away because his bags worked. Our beloved federal government has decided that 10 years is the life span of an air bag and after that you're on your own...Get rid of the solid steering shafts.

If safety is really first(i.e. "...as safe as possible.") then why not wear a HANS device and a helmet. Don't forget your mask. If safety IS first why even drive? Why go out at all? Why ride motorcycles? Why fly? Why cycle? Why cross any streets? It just isn't worth it anymore. We can now have food delivered and watch hot rod shows all day on youtube.
    Safety is everything!
I'm only half joking. We rationalize anything we enjoy and critique anything others enjoy.

Why do some protest so much when someone comments on an old post ? Does it matter if the post is 10 minutes. 10 months or 10 years old ? A thought is a thought , a reply is a reply , just don't understand what the complaint is ??
