definitely got my attention here in Temple City.

Like others have said, more of a long rolling quake than a big jolt or anything....

5.0 Did not feel anything live in inland empire..So Cal..

.. when the Northridge Quake Hit in So Cal approx. 20 years ago , I was going over an Overpass on the 91 Freeway in slow traffic... the entire overpass started swinging gently back and forth... i knew it was an earthquake right away...here's where it really get's scary...several female drivers stopped thier cars and got out thinking they had flat tires...

True story i saw it with my own eyes...

Was getting cuban food in Culver and it swayed us pretty good. everybody freaked out but there was no major jolts. Apparently the centre was just south of LAX........second longest shake i've felt since i've been here.

In San Francisco we called one that size a windy day. haha. Try one that size in a 70+ year old apartment in the basement of a converted house in Nob Hill. Nothing like wondering if the hot water pipe above your bead is going to blow on you, or if the pillars of questionable safety are going to snap from swaying back and forth.

Hope everyone down there is okay though. ;)

Didn't feel anything here. I had my house retrofitted after the '94 quake (100k+ damage) and it made a BIG difference in how much the house moves....

Hit pretty hard in our 20's bungalo in Long Beach. Knocked over glasses and books went down to the floor. It was on the same fault that leveled Long beach in 1933. My house made it through the '33 quake, it's well seasoned and does just fine.

First a sway, then a jolt that knocked speakers off the TV and books off the shelf. Checked the garage to see if anything fell on the coupe. Everything OK except for a few new cracks in the plaster.

Funny, my 21st Century California neighbors run inside and lock their doors when they see me, should I return to charm school?

'quake shook East Long Beach pretty good! I'm on hard pan adobe soil, so it's always a choppy ride when quakes hit. No vehicles damaged.

We lived near Burbank when I was a kid (early / mid 70's) One afternoon me and some local kids were hanging around and the ground started shaking, not like a huge quake but just kinda vibrating like BRRRRRRR then it quit.

I started flipping the fuck out  and the locals were going "what the hell's wrong with you?" I said "the ground's moving!" and they go "oh, it does that all the time here"

    Welcome to California I guess.

  30. Doesn't CA have earthquakes to some degree or another everyday? No bigger of a deal than a good ol' snow storm in the middle of January to a Midwesterner?
