Went to the F.A.S.T. hill climbs today. The event is for pre 1935 4 cylinder ford cars only. T's, A's and speedsters. Stock and Modified classes of each. Lots of neet stuff.

Isn't that the stretch between Kenwood and Cleghorn on I-15?

Looked familiar, for sure. Have chased many steam locomotives through there with camera equipment in the past 35 years...very historic area...
    great photos, thanks...

Thanks for going to these events and posting all the pics. I appreciate it. There is a picture of a yellow speedster with blue wire wheels, What kind or brand are those wheels?

Thanks for posting the pics. Looks like a lot of speedsters in attendance and not a lot of stockers. Any info on the results, i.e. who won in what class?

There were some stockers. Jay Steels Sedan was the quickest stocker I saw run. I posted the speedsters and Modifieds because they are more HAMB frendly. I left at the lunch break and didn't get any of the results.

I think the wheels are Buffalo brand wheels. I don't know for sure. My uncle's car has a set on his. I'll ask and send you a PM. The guy that makes them is here in So Cal.

I reallty dig this car. Engine and drivetrain are all T. If I could build one of these and get it street legal, I think I would be in heaven.

  22. Tommy Manocchi, down the street from me, makes the Buffalo clinchers, hubs and all. His late father, Tony, tooled up about 30 years ago to produce Buffalo 30" clincher wheels. They have been available for years form Lucas Automotive in Long Beach.

That looks like about as much "real" fun as one person can have with his clothes on. thanks for bringing this thread to us.

  29. Was the road closed for this or is it just an abandoned stretch?

It is an abandoned strech that was replaced by interstate 15 through Cajon pass.
This section is normaly locked and is used by Caltrans for storage. The club gets permission to use it once a year.
