  1. All good in my hood in LB...although some further east in El Dorado park are getting hammered. One good thing is this:

Guess that's why, before the breakwall, they used to call Long Beach the Wakiki of Southern California!

See the c-10 in the picture?

    Here in Ramona we are

yesterday I rode the bike in, Rain suit helped. The drop were huge and felt like bullets. I know that was crazy but I had to the 60 engine died.
Day before the winds at the Casa reached 70 mph. Reminded me of a tropical storm.
Trees broke and shit thrown everywhere.
Then the day got worse. Went to feed the horses and buried the bronco. Almost rolled it down a hill. Found out the wife is not to cool with go 4 wheeling with . She jumped out and said screw this and the bronco listed and slide down bank. There goes the counter balance.
Found out I back over a underground drainage and slide into it.

Then once I was pulled out. I drove up to the house. The 4 foot deep creek was now a river and 2 foot above the bridge.
I am totally over all the damn rain. Back to sunshine and blue skies!

Just wait till friday when that 19 foot ground swell is do to hit.
Del Mar is under water and is going to get a good rinsing if it hit. Wave height should be in the 22 to 25 ft range.

  4. Just drove from Monrovia to Burbank in my 60 El Camino. What fun, hydro-plaining only going 40! it came down in buckets, way too hard for my single speed wipers. Lucky the car knew the way. Came home via Riverside and Colorado Blvd.

  5. Just looked at a weather for the weekend, looks like it will clear up for the swap meet Saturday at the speedway in Fontana. May be under water, but the sun is supposed to be out

Whats it now? The fifth straight day of rain. How the hell do people live in this sort of weather day in and day out? The good parts are rain got to El Mirage and this crappy weather will be out of here in a couple of days.

Wow,maybe you should go back and read some of what I posted. Not only are we getting flooding, but thanks to the bad fire season we are getting mudslides and many people are now evacuated from their homes, not to mention,Tornadoes in California, which is a rare occurrence. Throw on top of this our random earthquakes. And anyone thinks this is over in the next few days, guess again. We get a light break Sunday and Monday, then the rematch starts on Tuesday. All you mid US guys that claim it's just a little rain, apparently you don't live next to the ocean.

Yes, it is wet here right now, but let's keep it in perspective. Haiti might have a couple of hundred thousand dead. A few inches of rain is merely an inconvenience compared to that. I mean no disrespect to anyone suffering from our current weather, but c'mon!

No disrespect taken, except I'm not from Haiti. This is a thread about So. Cal. and the freak weather we've been having, not about the quake in Haiti. If we get flooded,I'm out of a job, because my place of employment is located underground. People have been forced out of their homes due to mudslides, etc.
I'm not without feeling for the Haiti victims, but what can I do other than make donations? I'm here in the U.S.,in So. Cal.and this is here and now. The news isn't covering everything, because they can't cover every single thing that has to do with this storm. So let's leave Haiti out of this thread, yeah? This has to do with H.A.M.B. members who live in So. Cal.,and to make sure they are alright through this storm,or anyone else effected by these storms.
If I lived in Haiti, this would be a Haiti Quake thread. Get where I'm going with this? Until now, there has been no drama, and you seem to be the only one to even remotely say something that could spark drama,so please don't do it anymore. Let's keep this about what's going on here.

I've lived in Southern California for over fifty years. I do not need a lecture from you. I simply requested that we keep our weather in perspective. Lighten up Francis...

I left Fla for a reason. I got tired of everything blowing away or being soaked at the whim of nature. 18 years of tropical storms and hurricanes. Ivan was the last and that was it.

It is shocking because it is not normal condition. The snow that has blanketed the midwest and east has US her in SOCAL in awe!
Believe me we feel for you guys. It keeps us in check on how nice it is here.
We then get hit by this.
Yesterday I got home to result of 65mph plus winds. Street signs flattened and fences slung all over the place. I still want to know how my bed liner managed to travel 60 feet. I had it anchored down with about 200 .lbs of fire wood.
Let's put it this way. It has rained so much here that we have undergound wells spouting up from the ground. I found out exactly why I buried the Bronco the other night. I backed off into one of those undergorund wells.

And right now we have sunshine....

lots of mud at my house (no driveways or lawns, still in construction) but the roof held up perfectly!.

I did get the airplane out of the hanger at Corona airport, a few years ago it flooded (up to 13' in the west hangers, a real mess) and airplanes were floating around. The water is still rising....

I'm right by Seal and Long Beach and my streets are notorious for flooding with so much as a light rain. I had to leave a SEMA function a bit early, but luckily got home Wednesday night early enough to sandbag the house and garage. Water was just getting in the garage so clean up was minimal, but another 30 minutes and I would have been screwed. You guys can make fun if you want, but losing a lot of $$$ over a "little rain" is no joke.
