I have lived in So Cal all my life. I have no issues with driving my old cars here. I don't use them for my daily commute as it is about an hour in heavy traffic and I don't want to be rear ended by an inattentive driver on the cell phone. But other than that I hop in them and go where ever I need, or want to be.
At 4 this morning we were getting Thunder, Lightning and Hail - at 7:30 I was driving my Roadster Pick Up in glorious sunshine.
Wouldn't have it any other way, in any other place.

Hey Plym, my wife and I were just out in Southern Ca. this past week, I wanted to make the same post as you. L.A. traffic ****s bigtime. You can't go anywhere in the daytime on a weekday. We found you can make just a good time by driving the scenic main roads than trying to cross town on a freeway. Drivers there are rude and let it be known they don't care for you to be slowing their life down.
From the Santa Monica Pier to Santa Barbara by Hwy 1 is beautiful and nice. Also from Long Beach south to San Diego by Hwy 1 where possible is also nice.
We heard of one motorcycle death while we were there, I'm surprised we didn't hear of more. L.A. bikers do not have the same laws as the cars do. Idiots.
By the way, if you took their horns away it would be the same as castrating them. The ratio of rude drivers to courteous drivers is at least 10-1.
