If that picture was a bit newer , I'd say those were period perfect rat rod fodder. A man truly ahead of his time.

Stack tunnel rams one on top of the other and put that velocity stack on top of the whole shebang and it should look to scale.

I saw this thing at the GNRS last year. If you took all the weird **** off it wouldn't be such a bad car. Oh, but all that weird ****...wtf?
I do believe it was built several years ago by someone on the Hamb, as a radical show car. I certainly remember following the construction of the skull air filter. Some cool sheet metalwork.
Maybe those were his winter headers so he could have radiant heat in the car! Just a thought. But if he went that far with the headers he should have made a long tube sheet metal intake to go with it.
