So I go to visit a close friend in Las Vegas to catch up on whats been going on in life. He says lets go for a ride, I've got something I think you'd like to see. So we pull up to a block of warehouses and I'm thinking he found the car of his dreams. He puts the key in the door and hits the lights and I'm thinking I've died a gone to Hot Rod Heaven! His boss has his own private museum! 3 huge warehouses packed to the gills with some of the baddest Rods, Kustoms and Drag cars you could imagine.

My jaw damn near hit the floor! After taking a tour of the first 2 buildings it hit me. So I ask the question, Which one does your boss drive? He tells me none of em, he just likes to look at em. What a waste of some beautiful machinary.

Sorry for the cell phone pictures. I was in no way prepared for what I was about to see.

Great collection, too bad he only looks at them as he probably is not a true "died-in-the-wool" gearhead.
I say you should have at least enough cars to be able to drive a different one every day of the week. It's kind of like HP, you can never have enough.

    IMO

  8. Such a sad waste of some nice cars. It makes me sick, I hope he gets bored with them and sells them to people who will drive em'.

They interviewed Billy Gibbons on T.V. here during his recent visit for a hot rodding weekend. When asked about his Hot Rod collection, he said 1 Hot rod is 1 too many and 100 isn't enough. Too true.

Another dream collection! If I had some F-U money, I would have the same! So far I'm at the 1/18 scale on multi cars, and 1 real one!

He could at least take them out and blow the cobwebs out once in a while, shame to see them all collecting dust.

He is a great guy and opens his collection up twice a year to the public and sponsors a great benefit Bar B Que and swap meet along with the viewing.
He's been known to drive em'.
Hell I wish I could have that kind of collection just from blowing shit up!

The maximum allowable should be six.

One man should be able to own however many cars he damn well pleases and can afford. That being said, I do think cars should be driven and I'm pretty bummed to hear he doesn't drive any.

I'm sure he worked hard to get where he's at but...that doesn't make me any less jealous. Damn.

  18. Post 12 says he drives them..

Be hard tempted not to aye.. :)

  19. Having been to Milt Robinsons private museum a couple of years ago by invitation I know first hand the shock of seeing that many nice cars owned by one guy.

Some guys collect exotic cars,,this guy seems to prefer Hot Rods.

So how many cars should a guy be allowed to have,,,all he want's,,I surely want more but seem to lack the extra stacks of green fun tickets it takes to finance them!

I'm sure he enjoys the hunt and ownership of each and every car but he is just the caretaker for now,,sooner or later some will be sold and replaced by others,,but a hard fact is in the future he will no longer be around and someone else will dispose of them,,that's life.

I would love to have the capital it takes to have this kind of collection,, I don't,,,, but if money were no object I can't think of anything I would enjoy more than having the problem of figuring out which hot rod I would drive on any given day.HRP

As many as he can afford and wants. This is America and just because the current "everyone should have the same regardless of effort" bull shit thinking I still prefer the "persue your dream as long as you don't infringe on anyone elses rights" theory. Left unchecked (there IS an election coming up:cool:) We're headed to a place where this kind of ownership will be criminal.

    What he said.

  22. But you can't take them with you, so the real answer is: "The man who dies with the most toys, is still dead and they're still here!"

I have no problems with collections like that - the cars WILL eventually see other owners in time. The guy doesn't care where they go when he's dead, right? Every owner of whatever is simply a caretaker of things, unless that thing is destroyed in that person's possession. Plus, in our nation, the RIGHT to private property still exists (for the time being), as there are people that can't stand success and want to strip that right away.

Put it this way - they COULD be 3,290 KIAs or Hyundais now, right???

General thoughts here are all you can aford and I agree. You can never have to many hotrods period. I have several and drive every one of them at least once a month and a couple of them daily. Its a merry go round of drive and wear them out then rebuild and start over again.

To answer the original post . A MAN CAN OWN AS MANY CAR AS HE CAN AFFORD. If he wants to let them sit INSIDE OR OUTSIDE FINE. FUCK your class envy! Your pal has a job because this guy can afford to pay him!

I'm sure with Fab32. This is SUPPOSED to be a free country. As long as you can afford them and you're not causing any nuisance or disturbance, why should anybody CARE?

My dream was always to have a pole barn with 10-12 bays, plus elbow room out back for rows of parts cars!!! Only lack of winning the lottery stood in the way. Damn numbers!!!

  28. why is there a 1975 Chevy Luv truck right in the middle of all of these BITCHIN' cars?

Dont drive them WTF? I would spend the rest of my life trying to wear them out.

  30. SO? If it's his money and those are his cars he can do any damn thing he wants. Including crush all and sell them for scrap if he wants. The last time I checked this was America. I'm a veteran and I fought for that right.
We don't have to agree. So everybody stop sniveling. Can you be happy with that much money? Obviously not. Well I'll have a damn good time being miserable.
