    Bewhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Ok, so I have wanted an A roadster for years, litterally my "dream" car. My good friend had this pop up for sale, so I couldn't resist. Yeah, it's rough, but it's mine!!! The cowl is in decent shape, the doors are better than average for a roadster, and the quarters are...well...rough. I do have a nice subframe, and everything else I can scrounge, as this is a long term project for me.

You know, my Dad always told me when you get a project, start with the nicest car you can....:D

May the Rodgods be with you. I've always said you can restore a car from a hubcap.
    good luck!

Sweet, I was piecing one together until I got bored and just bought a whole roadster. Good luck, I'm sure it will turn out cool if your coupe is any indication. Man I love that car:D

Pretty nice looking dash rail on it. I am having a heck of a time locating one for mine.

2X on the coupe. If you use that as your model the roadster will turn out just fine.

Hey Chris, congrats on the roadster. I'm sure you will make it look right. I've seen people start with lots worse.

That's a pretty nice body to start with, unreal how these still turn up after 77 plus years. That left quarter looks exactly like what I started with on mine, I only had 11 bullet holes in mine though.:D I was amazed that it still held its shape with the big 45 caliber holes in it.
Looks like all you need are subrails, are you going to build 'em or buy brookville ones?

Well, I bought an orriginal 32 frame last weekend over in Montana, and now this. I have always wanted a pretty early roadster and have collected parts for years. I have a 32 rear end, heavy axle, 32 steering box, 59AB and early trans. Pretty run of the mill, but thats how I really like em. Chopped and raked windshield, undropped axle, unsplit wishbone...jus simple. I really need a 32 wishbone now!!!

  22. I think the subrails are the same, the floors differ some.

At least you have a good pile of pieces, the rest is just a big jigsaw puzzle.

  23. I hope you post the progress. I have a friend who has built a roadster and a roadster pick up from swapmeet parts and both are trophy winners.

Not all subrails are the same on model A's. There are some differences in them but the only one I think that would concern you is whether your subrail is for a closed car or a open car and the difference will be in the door sill.

Just throw it together and the rest will buff right out! ;) Not a bad start, I'd say. I'm pretty much a closed car guy but there's just something about a roadster. I'll probably have to have one too, someday.

i used a brookville subrail and pieced my roadster back together, i welded it up with the cross channels then but the backhalf on snug the went with the cowl and door onto the front, then welded the doors shut so when you weld braces in there the doors stay level, i thought it was gunna be hard but in all actuality it was cake!

    Really though, workable little pile-0-parts.
Chopped50Ford's is a prime example of what a man can do.

    We'll be watching

Looks kind of like our yard art/compost bin:D
