Folks Of Interest So I guess I am the only one that didn’t realize Holley bought Halibrand?

Chevy C10 trucks is a hot market right now, so it makes sense they're going after a piece of it.

Hey Y'all,,, Holley keeping the ball rolling, is a good thing for one.
For two let's recognize that they have been helping to keep cars running for well more than a hundred years.

Square bodies were the next step for people priced out of the “old” truck market, but prices have gone out of sight. I’ve had an 80 2wd step side with a factory wood bed for 30 years that both my daughter and son passed on as a custom project we could work on together for their first car. My 15 year old grandson has had his eye on it since he was about 8. So it makes total sense for them to move towards that market. My grandson and I are working on it and just bought a set of new 8” and 10”x15’s Corvette rally’s with rings and smoothy center caps for it. I’m sure my grandson would probably prefer larger rims but we are staying
    “ traditional “ ;) on that one.

I like the 60-72 versions, not so much after that.

I used to be able to buy square bodies for a minimum of $2k, for repairable ones.

Now, those are over $10k. Same exact condition.

Me too, but prices are to high for 67-72’s if you can find them. If I didn’t have the one I have for 30 years we wouldn’t be able to afford this build for my grandson. In his eyes it’s “OLD”.
    ;)

I only hope Holley doesn’t spread themselves to thin and run the thing into the ground, ending all of the smaller shops “businesses “
    that they have bought out.

I don't care: I've wanted a set of "kidney beans" since I was in high school.

I'm more surprised when I hear Holley doesn't own something else car related. I often wonder why they even bought some companies like Demon carbs when the company has such a horrible reputation when they bought them, and I couldn't understand what value it had for Holley? Buying Quick Fuel carbs made more sense, as they were highly regarded. But I still wondered what QF offered that Holley couldn't already offer?
Seems there's a huge black hole at Holley that just sucks up anything automotive.

Some of it could just be buying up the competition.

    Economies of scale.

Is it better for corporations if there are 10 wheel companies, each with 10% of the wheel market,

    Or,

Five wheel companies, one with 60%, and the remaining 4 still with 10% each?

Corporations will naturally move as far towards monopoly as the law will allow.

It is always better for shareholders.
