ive never seen one of those! my first lowrider was a rare Cadillac. 85 fleetwood brougham coupe. they officly stopped making fleetwood coupes in 84. but they made a little over 200 in 85.

Sorry caffeine... i dont have any pics of the date:rolleyes:

it might not be the right place to say but, that LeCabriolet is a hard to find car.
the boys here in L.A. would fight over that one.

Didn't Corky Coker say he was gonna re-pop 5.20's?????
    I wonder what hapened...

Oh and Pat Ganahl had a great article in the Rodders Journal about Lowriders and their influence in the Custom Car world.. I just can't remember which one, btw it was a great article...

Corky did repop the Premium Sportways from back in the day. I heard on some of the lowrider sites that there had been some initial delays...but, I think that's worked out now. If I'm wrong-please correct me.

I like blurring the lines... I just had my original Sportways from '84 mounted on a set of Astro Supremes for my '64 Pontiac Sportcoupe. At the same time I picked up a set of Dayton wires with knockoffs for her... My wife can't figure out why a car needs 3 sets of wheels and tires??!! I asked her, why she has 2 feet, and 36 pairs of shoes... (Maybe eventually she'll let me back into the house...).

only 300 were made from 1978-1982,,and quite a few have gone to japan and europe... i never even knew they existed till about 10 years ago...i've always wanted one but never figured i'd be able to get one,,
then almost a year ago i found this one less than 3 miles from my pad and have been trying to buy it for almost a year! the old man(original owner, 72K,factory CB! haha) called me a couple weeks ago and said he would sell!:D

yes,,COKER is carrying the 5.20's now!

Haha...I stumbled into one of these (but a 4dr) and this was the 1st thing that came to mind....

Coker does carry the 5:20 in 13" & 14"...I have a few 14" sets on a couple of Truespokes & Starwires. I like them and they are very close to the originals with the exception of 'lowrider series' stamped on the sides...So these will be the ones i cruise cause they handle much better than originals so now all i need is a car...lolol..I have 2 og sets of 5:20 ps (that will be for shows only...cause we all know they handle like sh!t) ways but i'm saving those for a set of Cragars mags thats going on a top secret project!!

  15. It's all in the setup. Accumulators are great, but you can make a standard setup work great. A good quality setup will not leak, not break, and will ride great.

yea the main reason the 67 rode like a turd is it had hopping springs in it. i never could get it to hop. thats a art form in its self

Man, I like the color scheme on that truck. Cool 'stripe "tattoo" too.

  18. A lot of hopping is in the switch hitting. Gotta get the timing right. I'm no longer impressed by hoppers, too many cheaters

banging the back bumper is ALL timing:D! .......

yeah, some sneaky stuff going on,,,but i guess that NEVER happens in drag racing either:D....

  20. Kinda hard to cheat in bracket racing. You either drive good or you don't. I'm not into professional racing, he who has the most money wins. Although I wasn't around then, the 50's and 60's were the best time for drag racing. Guys built top fuelers in their home garage, there were hundreds of competitive fuelers in the country. Now, what do you have? 10?

chazzin, I saw your truck in Trad Rod and Kulture... and spent weeks looking for a slick. I drove all over, almost bought a unibody, but the guy was lying between his teeth and it was rougher then sandpaper.

I really dig your truck man, good job.
