So, if it has a bench seat....is it still a deuce?

  2. Quote from the seller, "Here's your first of all . A duece coupe is a TWO SEATER . The Beachboys just happened to make the phrase popular with a 32 ford . Duece = 2 . Nobody likes to be corrected incorrectly ."
    Anybody here agree?

The funny part is that the guy sound`s like he`s so sure thats where "Deuce" comes from, he makes himself sound like an ****!

I dont really give a damn...just thought it was funny.

The term "Deuce" refers to a '32 Ford. ie. Deuce pick-up, Deuce sedan, Deuce coupe, Deuce roadster. ....Period.

Reminds me of a self proclaimed car expert I new in high school. Every pre '48 hot rod he saw was a "deuce coupe, chopped, channeled, sectioned and shortened".

  8. "engine is out of a 1967 Camaro and is a 283 with the hi-perf heads . Serial # on the front of the block is F4090G". Did they put 283s in Camaros? Were 283s still around in 1967?

Not that it matters, but a funny thing also is that someone ask if it has a back seat, he said, No, but you can add a rumble seat kit, and he was going to have a mechanic do it. I guess then it wouldn't be a deuce anymore though.

From my memory - not research - 1967 was the last 283 but I don't think they were in Camaros. I know I've seen the 283 Camaro thing argued before - if there were any they're mighty rare.

Someone should ask him what a 32 Ford Sedan or Fordor is considered.

  17. Hell yeah baby!

I drove home from work this morning in a Toyota DEUCE!!!

Hell, if you look in the background, I got another (older, rat-rod ol skool) deuce, too. It's a dodge deuce.

Now I'm so excited I gotta' drop a deuce.

That makes 3 deuces in one morning. Is that like a hat trick, or hitting the trifecta?

Interestingly enough, I just sang the Little Deuce Coupe to myself and don't recall any reference to "Ford" or "1932" specifacally. Maybe Brian Wilson was really singing about a 34 Chevy? Hmmmh, anyway back to work.

I think we all run into self-proclaimed experts like this, I know several people that have asked me for a ride in my roadster and its a 33 chev 2-door. I just say sure. As Ron White says "you can't fix stupid"

A deuce n a quarter? That would be a 2-seater car on the dragstrip, right?:D

Groucho, thanks for posting a pic of your "deuce coupe". I always enjoy seeing it.

I'm very sorry, but your 2 seater 'whatever' will not be allowed into the H.A.M.B. Deuce Club... :p
