Do whatever you like with it, it's your car...

But if it was MY car....

I'd pull the ch***is out from under it and build it into a good 'cruising' ch***is. Lowered. Mild big block GM engine (455 Olds or Buick), auto, LSD, 4 wheel discs, power steering, IFS etc.

Then I'd put the completely stock body wth all its original chrome trim etc back on top, fit a set of wide steelies with the original hubcaps, wide whites, and....

    GO CRUISING THE HIGHWAYS.

    Cheers, Glen.

If you do a chop, make it a raked chop so the lines sweep up from back to front(Hopefully someone gets what I mean and photoshops it)

It's a really nice car, and that's all it will ever be. I would leave it.
Why spend much time and money in a bodystyle, that can never be real cool, no matter what u do with it?! Exept stock or a crazy G***er I can't really imagine this car.

Those low Kustom Sedans with skirts make me fall asleep.... I just do not like 'em at all.

No thanks, rather sell it, get the same car as a Coupe, and make a raked late 50's style Hot Rod with a 4 Speed out of it.

    Just my opinion....

I like Glen's idea. Drop in a 455 Olds (I love mine) and make it a cruiser. The thing will turn heads off the line and will cruise at 1800 rpms at 65mph on the highway. How the hell can you beat that?

Wow, when did restorers ever pay good money for anything? Hotrodders have become cheapskates just like restorers always have been. That is, cheapskates if they are on the buying end of a deal, we're all highbuckers when we're on the selling end...and that's the way it should be. How else do you get ahead to start another project?

I agree with Boones. Cutting it up will only de-value the car.

It would be a shame if its cut and never finished, plus chopped sedans look funky if not done right.

Drop it, but don't chop it. I don't care about cutting up a good, old car. This car just won't look as good chopped as it does stock. Check 51gringo's photo above. Nice find, by the way.

Hey Chad - I'd take the 10K or 11K everyone says its worth and I'll finish the 56. Heck, I'll even show up with 18n57 and we will help whack it.

Ssteve, I got the hot chick because she was desperate

    I agree.:)
Give it to a resto guy.
Let him do all the hard work getting it just perfect.
    .
Then I'll buy it off him and cut the **** out of it

Nothing is too good to cut.
I'd cut a friggin Tucker if I had that kind of cash.

    fergenboysinc,

Leave the paint as is, lower it, skirts, WWW, solid wheels, vintage hub caps, three two's and drive it. This would make the car very cool without all the extra work. Better to be driving than setting in the garage. Keep the hot click very good icing on the cake.

    Cruiser:cool:
