so what are you running in the way of mirrors?

well, i am looking for some side view mirrors and a rear view for my 47 chevy coupe. i was just curious as to what some of you guys have done. if anyone has pics of their mirrors, or stock 47 mirrors, or links to company pages with good styles of mirrors, i would really appreciate it. i know it's kind of a lame request..but i just want to make sure i do this right.

 

I'm using 1961 Studebaker Avanti mirrors on our 50 Burb. Look great on most anything, available repopped and good quality!

For the inside mirror in my 48 Aerosedan I used one from a 53 Desto parts car becaused the wierd wide oval shape matched the rear window shape in mirror. It used same mount bolt threads. I have seen many other cars with same matching shape.
Outside I used 4" Peeps.

 

Almost anything but peep mirrors.

 

I've got a rearview on the galaxie, but I haven't gotten around to putting the side ones on yet. Not exactly sure where they go, as the previous owner, a real einstein, had drilled the door to install some kind of nissan horseshit plastic mirror on the damn door. And the car's been filled and repainted, so I got's no idea where I'm supposed to put the factory mirrors. Kind of like the look better without them on at all!

 

Side mirrors? I thought you were supposed to shave those.

 

Agreed! Side mirrors are ugly! At least on a kustom!
