Halfway through typin' that ***le, I thought "this is SUCH a FNG ***le" but hey, Y'all started somewhere, huh? So, where wuz I???

Oh yeah, I'll soon be reworking my '46 Dodge pickup, using most of the running gear from a 91 Dodge Dakota. when the Dak is stripped to the empty body, bed, doors, and front clip, what do I do with those pieces? Would a junkyard buy 'em? Is there a ***le issue when a vehicle disappears???

As long as you have the ***le, you can sell it any way you want.

Going rate around here is about $50-$75 for a stripped out shell, most yards will take it if you have the ***le.

might do better $ wise to try saleing the fenders and what-not on ebay....might not make a killing, but it will be more than the junkyard would give...and in the end they could still come get the frame and cab, maybe just for less $.

If they're solid peices, first try to sell them localy. Here we have the Atlanta Advertiser - it's free untill you sell. You probably have something similiar. Anything that dosen't sell (or is too beatup/whatever), take to your local "s****metal" yard. ***le problems vary with location, so call them first.

Look for a metal Recycler locally that is what I do with the remains. Depending on your local laws you may need a ***le but a bill of sale can work.

  7. Here, if it's fairly new and has no ***le, it depends on the place. Some, you have to cut it up in small pieces, but sometimes you find a guy on site with a crusher they'll press it in with the rest and once it's buried in the middle of a stack of cars it doesn't really matter anymore.

we usually have leftovers for supper! All good replies here: if you don't have a ***le you can cut the remains up in pieces and take to recycler.

  11. Most of the good extra pieces end up on a fellow HAMBers ride. I was seeing lots of pieces that I recognized at the HAMB Drags last year.
But if its not something that someone I know can use it goes to the crusher. No hastle just get it there and get gone. The local doesn't require a ***le so every once in awhile I do a late model/junk do***ent burning. Just my way of sticken it to the man.:D
