Its time for a little body work on my 60 thunderchicken. Who looks like this I had to do body work in the areas marked in gray The rest of the paint that is on the car is in very good shape and lacking the time and cash i was thinking about painting it something like this to hide the body work execpt filling the spears down the sides.. Watsons 58 thunderbird what do you think?
I gotta agree, the T-bird is the best canvas for the Watson style paintjob, and your necessary bodywork makes it a perfect time to give it a shot. A second thin stripe on those whitewalls and maybe running those steelies fogged in the middle without the center cap would really add to the show car vibe. I love the idea.
The only drawback is living on central ohio and painting a car maroon and silver during Ohio state football season. Its going to be confused with scarlet and gray and some *** will ask when am i putting the Ohio stats O on the door. Ill have some results pictures soon..
You could do the secondary color in white or even gold if that's really going to bother you. The silver sure is pretty, though.
Sounds like a plan. Ditch the caps a fog the centers of the rims. Per Squablow. I shave it, nose it, deck it and take the little birdies off the b-pillars though. IMO. Here's a pic of my buddies '60. He's running '60 Dodge tailights.
