  4. That turbine '32 was built by a Boeing engineer in the early 60s and popped up for sale at the Puyallup swap meet in the mid 70s which is when Lemay acquired it. IIRC they were asking $12.5K for it...

Issues were no reverse gear, and the exhaust was hot enough to melt asphalt...

I guess for all out undisputed, unimpeachable, stop an enthusiast dead in his tracks kool, I really have to say a full house Ardun in a no hood build. The cost factor makes it a lottery hit purchase for many and practical is in the wallet of the beholder. I didn't want to spill that because it's not on most guy's radar and are truly special. The ones I said earlier just make good sense but if nothing but the best will do, well...

Someone did post a Jag 6 earlier and again it's a kool factor piece. They're reliable, powerful, pick things out and dress it right, well it's like the Duesenberg less 2 holes. And I guess I can post one of those again, right? Won't fit Root's truck but it's quite the "fluffer", yes?...

You ever notice that all the guys that spout this idiotic tripe are under fifty? So sonny, how about you show us your hemi? Want me to show you mine?
I go to a lot of shows, the ratio of flatheads to period-correct small-blocks in hot rods is 50/1. Of course, the clueless fools that post this rod-abilly shit cant tell the difference between a 265 or a 283 and a vortec crate motor anyway. They figure it shows how "hard-core" they are, all it does is show them to be un-informed fools with a virtually non-existant knowledge of hot rod history.

There was a short article in Hot Rod on the car when it was originally built.

Yeah, the problem with that post is, the OP didn't ask for the most uncool engine, he asked for the coolest. We get it, some don't like the SBC. In this case, keep it to yourself, cause you're not answering the question, and you're not contributing to the conversation. Go start a "He Man's Chevy Hating" thread and slam them till the cows come home. Stop interrupting a thread to try to build your street cred. It aint working.

I like all engines! 40 years ago, in Tulsa, a fellow member of the Tulsa Early Ford V-8 Club had a Jaguar 6 in a '40 Ford coupe, way cool!

IMG_4442.JPG 2015 Cheaterama. A bit off the OP'S current early Olds fetish. Though the intake is pricy, it is the center piece of this recently awakened survivor.
