So, what's a bubble top?

    So I guess my cars not a Bubble top even though it has the same roof as the '62 Bel-Air?

    Bubble tops really just a nick name.

  3. markyak said it right and that should set the record straight. Now I'll throw this in and it should probably be on another thread but somebody put a Belvedere roof on a 63' Impala and it was really impressive. Might have to open this one up later.:eek:

    Yep when they were new 61's were just called 61's As Tony said the carry over roof on 62's is where the bubble top name came from. For some reason most of the bubble tops had either a six or a 409.
