I spent a few hours out in my garage, messin around with my new project...a 50 Pontiac coupe. I need to do a little wiring repair to light it off and find the condition of the 40,000 mile flathead straight 8/hydramatic. If it's good, I may keep the drivetrain for a while. If it's junk my job is to strip all the running gear to replace it with a 400/turbo 350 Pontiac motor/trans.
I REALLY need heat in that garage, 50pont12_2020.jpg

    I feel for you guys!
I haven't been in the shop since last Thursday. My shop has heat, a forced air gas furnace, with the thermostat set at 60 degrees. I usually bump it up to about 64 when I'm working in there.

Last week I finished up updating the door latches and door handles on my 49. I'm about ready to install the new weatherstripping and gl*** in the doors, that is sitting here waiting. At some later point the truck will get painted, so I've been painting around the edges of the window openings with acrylic enamel spray bomb semi gloss black before the weatherstripping and gl*** gets installed. The color matches up with the weather stripping good enough for me, when we are ready for paint, we will just tape up the the rubber and call it good. Last week I had to fill in a small dent near where the weatherstripping ends, so I had to bump up the heat a little more so I could do the body work, and get it painted (its been in the 20s here). Friday was a day off so the paint could fully dry before I install the weather stripping around the door gl***, tomorrows project. I'm expecting to have the vent windows and roll up door windows in both doors by the end of next week.

I sold the last truck to fund the build on this one, there is still a little money left from the sale, its going to be close to being enough to fund this build! I believe I have enough parts on hand, and enough money left to get me at least up to the paint stage, which should be sometime this coming spring.

My wife has a few honey do projects, but she understands that I don't do anything wood and few things other then very small or simple. She also understands that if she wants something painted, she is picking out the colors and hiring the painter. What happens in the house is her domain, what happens in the shop is mine, we don't mix domains very much. The shop has paid for the house and most things attached to it (its a nice house), she buys the food and pays the utilities. We are a great team and have been for 44 years and counting.

I think my biggest problem is keeping track of where I put the stuff already purchased, so I can keep plugging away. Gene

Every morning I have a list ,then I step out the door and there are 10 more things staring back at me. Limbs down in yd ,wife's caregiver telling me something. By noon I am exhausted ,and only one item on the list started, or done.
    Getting old ain't easy.

Yes! It is! And so easy and cheap! I can’t believe the difference it made in his shop! I would do it to my detached garage, but it would take me years to get every thing out! Lol. Seriously considering doing it to my attached garage! I highly recommend this floor covering to anyone that wants to improve their shop!

I doubt that anybody really wants to hear about my problems. Even I don't want to hear about my problems.
    LOL

    But basically...

    My life-long problem?
    I was stupid.
    My problem now?
    I was stupid.

    And you can't fix stupid.
    Especially, after the fact.
    LOL

DDDenny, seen a lot of photos of your nice roadster, or at least the parts for it. What's going on, is it in one lump? Have you ever driven it?
