my soon to be X wife came into the garage about two weeks ago and asked me what my roadster was worth. I didnt tell her. She said she wanted half. I asked wich half, the front or the back. She thought I was jokin tell I fired up the demolition saw.

Had a meeting with her lawyer. He asked me what it was worth. I told him it was just a bunch of junkyard parts, which is pretty true. I told him if she wanted half she could have it, I'd cut it right down the middle, but her half needs to be out of my garage by the last of the month and she better find something to lift it cause I'm not moving it.

I left my garage behind last week until the papers are signed. I miss it. But I threw the big bolt cutters into my truck and superglued the keyholes of the padlocks on the doors.

I guess I'm a bit lucky in that my wife dosen't give a rat's ass about my cars. So as long as she doesn't see me bring it home, I can usually pass that I've had it for a bit and was just moving around some crap (works on engines, a bit tougher on whole cars....)

Never slept on the couch, wouldn't know. If the wife of 17 years wants to argue my lifestyle (the same one I was doing when we met) she knows where the couch is, and she can take it with her as the screen door slaps her ass leaving.

And to top it of, it aint my T that has a freaking $50 "nekid lady getting spanked" shifter knob, IT'S HERS. Guess I knew which one to pick for a wife (the one with a pfaff sewing machine to do the upholstery). :D

Like my dad used to say the wife is gone the bikes are still there

  10. my wife says its all cool until she gets pissed...then the truth comes out.

I never spend my "career" paycheck on my cars...the money I get is from working a "2nd" job in my garage buying and selling and fabricating. All my stuff I have bought that way. Even though I spend a separate "lump" of money on the car stuff I revolve, her hand is always out too for her share. If she helped..it would be a different story, but she doesnt....I never get for free, so I dont give for free...maybe im old school

Either way, I get what I want and accept the reprocussions later...whatever they will be...im used to it.

    Nice life eh...oh well.

man, divorce scares the living hell out of me. especially after reading these posts.
Fortunately, my wifes very supportive. she does as much as she possibly can to help me. but she does keep me humbled because she has a good rule i have to follow... no more than one project at a time.
about the only time she ever gets upset is when i do work for others, like the time i re-habbed my brothers 318 he was too cheap to buy anything of value so that came out of my pocket, which ill never see again. also when i re-wired his mustang she wasnt happy about that either and you guessed it, i bought the parts for that too.

A few years back I had several motorcycle projects going on (none of them ran) and a couple cars. It all blew up one day when there wasn't room in the garage for her car. Now any project I bring home has to be in running condition. And as long as the bills are paid and I have the money I don't catch Hell anymore.
