So yeah... I'm definitely going to like gas welding. (first attempt pics)

    as a former welding teacher i think you did a fantastic job for your first attempt. remember you will only get more proficient with practice. practice as much as possible before you try your first project and build your confidence. after you feel confident get a fender or some body part taken off a car out of a scrap bin at a body shop and play with that and practice on that and procede from there.

    Taught myself how to gas weld when I was 16 years old and still prefer it for building headers. If that's your first attempt you'll only get better with practice. Wish my first gas weld looked that good.

    Looks great, I agree gas is better than mig but wait till you try tig, heat control and welds like you just ran with gas, and it isn't hard like mig, best of both worlds ( and I like the sound of a nice gas or tig weld happening, something calming about it when done well, mig sounds like bacon frying)
