Krooser started a post on the Nurburgring. Wanna go? Fine. Just stay outta the way of this guy! Get comfy cause this will take 8.5 min. 1 lap ****er has WINGS http://www.bmwtransact.com/microsite/Nurburgring/
That dude is haulin *** for sure. Can't believe that closing rate on some of those cars! That would be a cool ride along! Gene
That guy has holsters for his balls. Really big holsters. I don't think I've ever heard anyone at WOT in top gear for so long a stretch. Even through some of the smaller curves he kept it floored. I can't even guess at how fast he was going on those straights. Damn. Brad
I wonder why the boy is so happy after that hot lap? Did he set a cl*** course record or something or is it just that much damn fun smoking around the Ring? Would've loved to have had a tach and speed readout on the screen. Either he wasn't close to a similar cl*** car, not improbable on such a long course, or there wasn't one on the track considering he reeled everything in like they had just blown an engine. Always wanted to see a car zoom through The Green Hell and zip around the Karousel. That, by God, is real road racing.
Old David Hobbs would be commenting on the size and quality of his attachments. I also believe Herr Stuck held or may still hold the record there in a LMP V12 engined X5.
Some of those guys in the other cars had to say "what the **** was that!!!" when he went by. So much better than NASCAR for me. Yeah I don't like the new stuff. But I love the cl***ic races they show and racing on the sand at Daytona. Too cool. Anyway loved the video thanks for sharing it. VonDad
The car was a Dutch DTM race car, BMW M5 GTS. The car dont share a single component with the road going version of the M5. Thats why he was blowing by all those street cars so quick. Like running a stock Taurus around the brickyard racin a NASCAR Taurus. Looked quick but hes still over a minute out side the lap record!
Wasn't Hans Stuck one of the guys that used to drive for team Joest Opel in the DTM cl***? Guess he got a new ride.....BTW, I counted 6 Porches he ate up and spit out. Anyone else got a good tally?
That's the Nordschleife circuit of "The Ring" (As opposed to the GT circuit). It's 20.6 kms, or 12.8 miles. 33 left and 40 right turns. And as was mentioned... that's not even close to record speed. Here's a video of the record lap at Nurburgring. 6 minutes 11 seconds. Done by Derek Bell in a Porsche 956... in 1983: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M11GOVfA50 - Matt
Umm, Hans Stuck has the lap record at 6m11s, in a different car (Cant remember what it is...) That is Derek Bell, but he is well outside of the lap record on that one, hell see how fast Jackie Icks went by him?
The best thing about the Nurburgring is you show up, pay sumat like £15 ($25) and your off for one lap.....you could be following a bus full of coffin dodgers, dicing with Yamaha R1s, a Ferrari 360 or a white van driven by a fat builder.....and Don't laff a white ford transit diesel van has lapped at just over 10 mis (like a few seconds over) That was shown on the UKs "Top Gear" and the woman driving was thrashing porsches through the bends.. I have no idea if anyone has done it in a rod .....yet! I think it's sumat that has to be done.
A rod round the Nurburgring....bet that would sell a few DVDs!!! Surf Monkey......"fire up the Impala I can feel a trip coming on!"
An A coupe on 32 rails, Hemi with zoomies.................... OOOH the sound The sight Nurburgring would never be the same again........... Anyone know where AK Millers mexican road race car is??
