So Cyclone Kevin and a bunch of other LA history buffs did a great job stirring up support to save Harvey's / Johnnie's / Bob's Big Boy Broiler in Downey.

It looks Norm's in LA is facing a similar fate as well, unless it finds a hero - and stat. The Norm's franchise was recently sold, and the new owner has applied for and received a permit to demolish the structure at 470 La Cienega Boulevard.

If you're wanting to help, here's what you can do to help the LA Conservancy save this famous LA icon and googie architecture masterpiece:

"Contact City Councilmember Paul Koretz (District 5) and ask him to support the Historic-Cultural Monument nomination for Norms La Cienega Coffee Shop!
    City Councilmember Paul Koretz
200 North Spring Street, Suite 440
    Los Angeles, CA 90012
    Phone: 213-473-7005
    Email: paul.koretz@lacity.org
Please copy the Conservancy at mvavala@laconservancy.org so that we can track progress and support for Norm's La Cienega."
