Anyone using one of these with valve covers that aint got breathers on em ? I gotten completely confused with the threads on what the best way to run old style finned valve covers n such on a sbc without adding breathers. This intake claims to address that. Looks like the pcv goes to the top of the oil filler tube. But if anyone is using one o these intakes it would be nice to get confirmed whether or not you need any additional baffling or some such under the valve covers or not.

Got a pic???? I don't see how well a pcv will work mounted in the same location as the breather?????
There's a reason the pcv is on one side of an engine and the breather (the intake for the pcv) on the other.....

On my SBC with Cal Custom V/C's, I have the oil fill tube with a breather cap and I drilled/tapped the intake near the distributer to accept a 1/8" pipe thread pcv valve, available at most parts store in the filter section.......

I think you can buy just a fill tube with a PCV valve that threads into the tube. Would be the same thing and a lot cheaper. I believe it was a factory part for early model Corvettes? I'm sure somebody will have more info.

  5. ...if i'm not mistaken, you need the earlier sbc with a road draft tube inorder for that manifold to work with no breathers in the valve covers...i'm still trying to work out my own set up similar to what you're talking about...

...i hope this thread takes off so i can get it figured out:D

  6. Not a dig at its design..... but that setup alone, will not always work on a small block.
It would need more "intake" air than that source [also at] the suction point can provide..... Not to mention the appearance factor of a hose just ran to that.....

Maybe that cap is supposed to connect to your air cleaner base like a later model closed breather system, and the intake has a PCV hole in the back that can't be seen from the photo angle. If that's not the case, seems a stupid idea.
