  1. I agree with this statement, but I will also point out there are a very small few who do the majority of this on the H.A.M.B. and when a thread goes off topic with complete nonsense like the A.J. Foyt's first midget thread which degendered into photos of Vern Troyer, midget strippers etc.... it is always the same handful of people involved. These are often the same ones spreading the division.

I would also say positivity breeds positivity, negativity breeds negativity.

I believe it was JeffB2 that had cataloged all the building tips and information in one huge thread, possibly that could be saved as a running thread on the main board sometime in the future if possible.HRP

If the forums are down I wouldn’t know how to access them. Thank you for the effort and all your hard work.

Here’s where we’re at: this thread’s been loaded 2,519 times by 131 unique users.

Last week, the entire social forums section racked up 913 page loads from 39 unique users. That’s it. So no matter how good the content might’ve been in there, over 99% of the community never even saw it. It wasn't indexed. It wasn't searchable. It was selfish data.

Stack that against the hours and cash it takes to keep the damned thing alive and the choice is obvious. Kill it. Still, I hate losing, and pulling the plug on something I built feels like a loss.

I’ll live with it. But don’t get me wrong... I’m not pointing fingers. The blame lands squarely on me. I built the feature, I carried it, and now I’m burying it.

And yeah, I shouldn’t have even mentioned the shit talking. That’s irrelevant. Just struck me as ironic - like a little snapshot of the times we’re living in.

If you have ANY links or bookmarks to an old social forum thread, please PM it to me. I'm not guaranteeing anything, but I will try to pluck it and move it over to the forums.

I had this hanging on the wall above my workbench at work for years and years. If everyone would simply think about the last one before they spoke or acted, the world would be a far better place...
