I just unpacked a very cool 1:18 Hotwheels model of Beatnik Bandit, plus all kinds of cool stuff like real sand/salt from Bonneville... Damn cool stuff to me! Beatnik Bandit looks even better that expected! I sure hope Hotwheels make it a nice Outlaw companion to it somewhere down the line. Isnt here a hamber that works for Hotwheels btw? But anyhow; thanks a million Sodbuster. Read your pm's.
Sailor, Taste that white stuff that Sodbuster sent you. I think you'll find that it's all (100%) SALT. There is no sand at Bonneville, unless it's down under the suface somewhere. And no, it won't hurt you. I use some occasionally this time of year at the dinner table just as a reminder of what it is like to visit the salt flats. I have a jar on my desk here and I occasionally pour a couple of grains out into my hand and taste. In fact I just did exactly that. And it was so good I did it again. Here's hoping you can get over here someday for speedweek yourself. Hey Sodbuster - is what you sent to Sailor some of what you scraped off of your arm???
Sailor, I was hoping that they would not take the "Salt" when it went thru customs. I labeled it so that they would not think that it was something else. Glad that you like the care package. I kinda looked around my computer area and put all kinds of stuff in there for you. Chris Nelson Kansas atch, It came from a pile after the group shot out in the middle of the Salt. I think that my right arm is still a little dry from the salt that day. And you can taste it, pure salt.
Hahaha, I was thinking about the customs too. You know little plasticbags with white powder coming from overseas... I kinda want to meet the norwegian customsguy that would go "Oh, its just salt from Bonneville", and put it back inn. I promise I'll find some cool use for it (and not in the kitchen)..
The forementioned arm covered with B'ville salt. That's Chris's lovely wife Jen who was "cutting the cookies" as my bud Joyce calls it.
