I have a 29 roadster high boy. As you would imagine it has no weight in the rear end. I have a stock spring but it only has 5 leaves. I put on some tube shocks from Napa but they are gas shocks and way too stiff. Is there any where to buy old ,just soft hydraulic shocks. Any suggestions for a soft tube shock. Thanks Phil
How do you know a shock is too stiff? Am I to assume this is a running and driving car? How are they installed, what angles and how much travel at ride height. Some information would be nice.
the more you angle them the less effect they should have right? so you could 'soften' things up that way.
what shocks did you get?? I get rear shocks for a 1948 ford from napa. I figure they weigh close enough to the same once you put a bigger motor in it.
i tried some gas shocks on the front of my a .....waaay to stiff , just shook when i hit anything.....went to a PRO shock from speedway . they offer them in different lengths , might be worth a look
