Regarding post #518--I didn't think that the lightweight '64 Galaxies had fiberglass doors, fenders, or Trunk lids--only fiberglass hoods. Syl Wouldn't it be nice if the authors of these articles did more research.

 

spierbt, as far as I understand, the hoods were the only glass body panal on 64's, and bumpers were steel. I bet tha man who wrote that page was making squat for money, too.

I remember being told doors, fenders and trunk lids were acid dipped and some bumpers were aluminum. But that's old info from old timers....

I seem to remember that as well, but you're talking about memories from nearly 50 years ago, and I may be confusing that with Chevys or Pontiacs...

Last I knew Danny's Rod Shop in Somerset, KY still has this wagon, and its for sale. I think it is a 289 3spd w/OD. Might not have the beans for towing anything heavy but would make a great push car.

 

390, sure wouldn't hurt my feelings droping a 445 FE, and a C6 in there...
I will see if I can track down any info.
