  1. my thoughts exactly you know this is just proof that the public school system is a failure and points to the dumbing down of society in general what's with people these days I guess it is just that when the english language is written or typed out it shows the limited ability of the use to effectively communicate with other humans now someone on here will call those who like punctuation and grammar "college professor" in a derogatory manner isn't the skill to communicate one of most coveted skills as human beings it is a harbinger of the coming apocalypse look at the loss of cursive writing for instance and speaking of non-sequitors my ass is itchy why is that maybe I didn't rinse it well enough in the shower this morning I think a steel Willys with a sock motor will bring big dollars if indeed the owner is interested in selling and not just saying 'hey look at me" on eBay

  2. Maybe it's too early for me...But, I don't see one period here either:eek::rolleyes:

  3. Anyone interested in purchasing my soul... it looks as though we're going well past the single kidney price range.

    Must be a really rare piece... seeing as it has that "sock" motor. You ever seen one of those Groucho? :D

    the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.

    Unbelieveable, Back in 69 when the 429 Shotgun motor came out Hollman & Moody couldn't give away the SOHC motors. They had a fire sale on the remaining motors. $1200.00 each on the pallet ready to go. Look what there worth today!!! I remember in 82 I bought a 41 Willys for $250.00 all steel/ no rust w/ extra Cal Automotive fiberglass. The guy delivered it to my shop for an extra $20.00. Boy those were the days!!!!

    glad to see, even in a crappy economy, that a willys can still bring home the bacon.

    sure would like to build that car with that motor...looks like its gonna be a bit pricey at the end though.

    Jim Green (JG Performance Center) in Lynnwood, WA had a ton of SOHCs for awhile. He ran them in a dragster, has a 34 tudor with fliptop body and an SOHC. Be interesting to know just how many he gathered up over the years.

    I recall stopping at Tallakson Ford in the U district (Seattle) to pick up some parts for a car I was playing with. They had a FoMoCo card display there on the counter offering crate SOHCs for $2500 each. What if....eh?

    Well boys and girls, it looks like we get a breather until it's listed again. With two go-rounds in the books I think I would let it rest for a spell and wait to see what the stock market will be at in another 6 mos.-year. That will tell you if any money has loosened up. If I had the kind of coin that this thing is worth I'd be holding off until it sold and go after the buyer if I was still interested. Whoever buys it will most likely have "buyer's regret" soon after and if experience tells me anything you might be able to get it for even less than what he paid. Doesn't always work but I've bought several cars that sold at auction by guys that got "caught up in the moment" and almost immediately panicked when they realized what they had done. Time will tell.
