455 Oldsmobile engine for sale Good runner, ready to drop in. This was a coastal car, so the chrome valve covers are crusty and it could use a krylon rebuild, but this is a good engine. It had been swapped into a '73 Riviera, from a '70 442. I wouldn't believe it had I not seen it with my own eyes. (I bought this to put in my own '67 Olds 442, but I am going to start from scratch with a correct, earlier block & rotating ass'y.) Based on the numbers, it was not original to the 442 either. I saw it run, even tweaked the idle setting a bit before I bought it. No noises, no smoke, very crisp response. I don't know the history, but I assume it was rebuilt at some point because of the mix of casting numbers (below). What I do know: Block casting #396021FA, and is machined for the manual transmission linkage, but the crankshaft is not machined for a manual transmission input shaft. Block stamp: 33M436774 (1973 manufacture date) "E" heads (1970 heads, very good factory castings) Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, nice original exhaust manifolds. Just add a carburetor (I used the one on this engine for another Olds) HEI distributor, p/s pump, alternator, water pump all intact. Even has the starter still attached. Complete from fan to flexplate. Other casting #'s shown in the photos. I haven't opened it up to see if it has been bored, or had the rods/main journals machined. I am happy to palletize for shipment, and a shipper with a drop deck can pick up. I have a cherry picker on site for local pickup as well. Located in central CA (95367).
