Here is the last word for traditional hot rod front brakes. F-2 backing plates, Buick Invicta drums, and 40 hubs machined to fit inside the drum for maximum shoe contact. All credit goes to GasHog here who authored the detailed tech article (I am including a copy for you) how he developed the method to achieve full shoe contact to take advantage of the 2.5" Buick drum to shoe contact area. This set up fits all early Ford spindles 28-48, with the 37-48 a bolt on. The outer register of the hubs was turned down to fit inside the Buick drum. A steel ring was fabricated on a lathe to locate the inside of the hub to register with the outside of the Buick drum. New press in studs. These backing plates are very nice, not pitted and the grease shields are included. The drums have no broken fins and were turned to the .042 range so they have plenty of life ahead. Drums are drilled for Ford 5.5"" bolt centers. Dual servo F-100 cylinders are easily fitted. Plus shipping.
