It`s getting closer. I think battleship gray looks good on it. Bill said, he`s never seen a 6 bladed fan on a motor this old from the factory. It`s a 53 Block. DSCF0037.JPG DSCF0038.JPG DSCF0039.JPG DSCF0044.JPG I also have a better breather for it also.

Going on a 145 mile drive with 3 other guys to South Sioux City Nebraska to a small swapmeet Sunday. Then to Norfolk Nebraska to get a part for the Plymouth and check out his barn FULL of parts, then 166 miles home. Last year we did the same thing but went east after the swapmeet and brought back a truck load of parts for my Plymouth.

Couldn`t find my camera to computer cord until tonight. We got home at 7:30 PM last Sunday. A good day was had. Thanks to @55onefifty and Lowell. I didn`t get anything for the car at the swap meet except some tools for the shop. Here`s the header panel with the sunvisor brackets and a 37 Caddy grille. I guess we`ll see if it makes its way into the Plymouth. Bought some window fuzzies and box of door escushions as well. Up at 4 am tomo DSCF0055.JPG DSCF0056.JPG DSCF0057.JPG DSCF0058.JPG rrow (Sunday) for another swapmeet.

That WILL work .. pretty cool! Have you thought about having an artist's rendering done? We get to see the parts/pieces, might be neat to see your 'vision' for this project.

Does an exacto knife and white out work from 5 years ago. It is still evolving as it goes. A little lower in the rear. Scan_20230311 (8).png

After seeing this picture shortly after I bought the 37 Caddy grille. I realized I need to stay focused on my original plan. Scan_20230311 (10).png

I have always liked the Scan_20230311 (11).png Scan_20230311 (12).png Scan_20230311 (13).png 33 Ford called Bluebird. This issue of dads Custom Rodder always stood out as a favorite when growing up.

Seeing this 39 Fo DSCF0157.JPG DSCF0159.JPG rd frontend a couple weeks ago at a guy`s Hot Rod shop reassured me I`m on the right path with the grille.

The shop has been super busy. The Pierce left in late December. Then did a 78 Vette, 39 Chevy sedan and then a Mild Custom 51 Merc just left this week. Next on the list is a bunch of convertible tops. Along with all the small jobs that filter in the shop. Been to a couple indoor car shows and 3 swap meets since the first of the year. Never a dull moment. I did put over 5 thousand miles on my avatar last year. Only put a little over 8 thousand miles on my daily driver pickup. IMG_5881 - Copy.JPG

  12. So what do you do with all that downtime in the shop? ;)

So, Bill got the motor mounted in the industrial stand and fired it up. The motor is a 53, a 42 was mounted on it originally. No modification was done, it bolted right up. It sounds good. The first motor I got was shot (a 51), and will be leaving soon. But will keep few parts off of it. The motor-run-stand now sits by the body in my dad`s shop. Went to Speedways Cars and Coffee for their Hub magazine event in the museum. 1000 cars attended. Need to head south for a straight axle and springs. Then to head northwest for a set of wire wheels. Booked in a 22 Stutz firetruck to do a seat. Then need to go to Detroit to do an insurance claim on a chopped Model A sedan. I originally did it 2 years ago. Gonna be in Indy for the Custom Car Revival. I can`t miss that. DSCF0233.JPG DSCF0234.JPG DSCF0235.JPG DSCF0236.JPG DSCF0237.JPG

IMG_0989.jpeg IMG_0988.jpeg IMG_0987.jpeg To put it in perspective on how old a 33 is. Here is a 1933 Minneapolis Moline Twin City. A 52 Plymouth convertible rolled into the shop today. I`ll post some more viable parts I really needed shortly.

It's yours my friend...take it for a spin up there...You worked hard for it...

    Regards,
