some A-HOLE stole my bed and tailgate

I finally rented a shop. I have been moving all my stuff this week. I took the bed off of my 28 to move it to the shop and realized it wouldnt fit in the back of my truck. I had too much stuff in the bed, so I proped it up aginst the fence in my drive way. When I came back to get it,,,, it was gone.. It was a chopped down 34 bed with a Willy's tailgate. the bed sides are rust colored and the tail gate was a feded blue with an old american flag sticker in the upper left corner. The tailgate took me forever to find..

Call the local s**** yards. Im sure thats where is going.

 

Specifics, it must be someone local.

 

Side note. What year tailgate is that off of? Im all over the Jeep clubs in AZ and sometimes stuff like that comes up for sale. I would be happy to keep my eye open for a replacement if it comes to that...

As stated before, get into contact with the s****yards in the area. They are your best bet. I'll keep an eye out here in the valley, craigslist, Ebay as well. Good luck man, hope they make their way back to you.

 

Dude, the banditos are getting more and more ballsy by the day. I'm sure everyone has heard the stories of DOT equipment and manhole covers going missing. A couple of pellets in some ***es would likely do wonders. Either that, or next time hook up some high voltage to your parts and set a nice little trap.

The junkies traveling the neighborhoods with old ragged trucks and beatup flatbed trucks and trailers are the likely suspects in this case. One day someone of them will get an up-close-and-personal lesson in territorial and property rights.

 

That tail gate took me 6 months to find. I call all s**** yards and they will keep an eye open

 

Yeah, Someone probley grabbed it for s****.
Notify all the s**** yards!!! No problems, just want it back, reward over s**** price.

They'll grab anything not bolted down, I've heard a lot of horror stories.

And you have to admit, to the ignorant , it looks alot like junk.

Now this is where video surveilance comes into play... even if your bed got melted down, you could jail those guys over grand theft of your very rare, $2,000 bed...

not sure where you left it but in my area when we put things out front it means it's free for the taking, stuff we don't want to just throw away...

So I guess you left it way inside your yard which means HANDS OFF.

 

Wow...sorry for your luck in getting ripped off! In all of the Willys trucks and Jeeps I have seen in my travels I have never seen a Willys tailgate....damn thing must be rare!

 

I live off the street in an alley. Hard to see unless you go down the alley

 

If you don't recover the stolen Tailgate let me know.

That looks like a CJ-2/3/5/6 tailgate and shouldn't be too hard to find as they are all the same year to year. They are available aftermarket with the lettering for $189.95 here:

Still a shame that some lowlife stole it though, that looked like a pretty servicable bed.
