Dang. I was gonna try and make it this year and totally spaced it. GREAT pics with the roadsters out in the snow. Leaves no excuses for the rest of us! And great pics. Thanks for taking the trouble to link those up. At least I felt like i was there. See you in February at the WOW. PS: What is the Dayton Tiki Run??
damn..you all are hardcore..woke up this mornin in downton cincy looked out the window and just said "shit"...haha bummed i missed it.. T. Hilton
Man,,that looks like fun and freezing to death at the same time,,,my hats off,,no pun intended, to the guys in the roadsters,,,they are hard core. HRP
In honor of the roadster guys stupidity, I drove one leg of the run with my drivers window rolled 1/2 way down, but I had to turn the heat up a little to keep up.......... Yes, these guys are hardcore, I'm glad they are my buds.
THATS OUR BOYS!! We call it " drive-em" -hundreds of guys there but many left their rides at home . Me and Wally started the drive em in a roadster tradition at a blanket run a few years ago and these guys are still doing it. We froze our asses off! And Wally dont realy miss that ear that had to be removed after the run. And i really didnt need that little finger... Roadster wings will be awarded. I drove a warm pickup and like Timmy actually drove with window part way down in their honor some of the time. Thanks Bill for the pics great job as usual!!!
For those that didn't go like myself. It was really nasty here. I tried to get to work and couldn't because of two accidents. By that time I got turned around it was to late to go to the Blanket Run. I cant believe how many of you went. Awesome. Thanks for the pictures.
Hats off to you roadster guys, I started out in mine, then on my street it didn't want to move very good on the snow packed street, I wanted to drive mine but 18 n 1/2 mickeys dont do ice and snow well. Went back home and got the wifes '41 pick up. I'll have me some extra wheels for next year. Thanks to all the people at the stops this year. As alawys a good time, thanks to the Cluster Busters for lunch. What was the count on blanks this year. Thanks for the pics. Looking forward to 2009.
What a great time i would like to think tom for putting this on.The drive back to dayton ohio was a little scary but we made it.Also thanks for the trophy the road devils stand proud.................
My wife drove the Mustang GT down to Nashville (IN) to go shopping and she called me mid day a little freaked because all of the trucks were pulling off the road. Checked the weather on the computer for her and they were calling it "dangerous" with "ice pellets". I heard them pinging off the window of the shop here, but I didn't venture out! I enjoy seeing those roadsters driving everywhere. You guys may remember cruising through Lafayette on the way to the Hunnert and passing a red 55 Bel Air going the other way near the mall on 52?? Much better weather back in October and one of the last days I had mine out. My hat is off to ya!
I want to thank all of you that came and had a great time. We had over a 120 people sign in. I have not counted blankets yet, I will turn them in tomorrow.. but there is more than i have ever had before. Thank you, thank you.
Hey msuguydon, you'll love Tampa especially in the Hurricane Season... Just kidding...Bring that 58 back up here...drive in the snow....with the rest of the boy's...
I can say that was one of the more fun times I've had in my roadster for sure. I can also say that 4" bias plys and an 1800 pound car was even more fun. Properly dressed, it's wasn't any colder than a car with no heat. Unless you're car was built solely for the drag strip, there wasn't any excuse for anyone to not drive their hot rods. Thom, great job and that was a great turnout for as shitty as the weather was. Terrific cause too. Kudos.
