oh yeah.....hats off to the Sowhat crew. They set a record in an other wise untested cl***. They ran a blown model A 4 Banger. I think they hit 76mph.

Also hats of to Jimmy Shine. He went 202mph in his roadster...you've never seen a happier man.

Killer pix Mike. You missed out on a Model A roadster that arrived on Monday with an Eddie Meyer Flathead with a Thickston 2/2 pat pend intake. He was from Arizona and had a little trouble on the way to the salt. I took tons of pix of it in high res. for a new screen saver for the computer.

We made it home last night around midnight. Drove straight thru and left Wendover @ 4am. Whew, I am tuckered out. I will post some pix of the salt this evening or on Thursday.

Hey sodbuster, the guy in that roadster is my buddy Jeff (jefe on the HAMB, whopping 5 posts in the past 6 years). He finished that car last year and he drives it every where, CHRR, Ranch Run, VLV, Antique Nats, LA Roadster Show. Man, I wish I could have caravaned with him on this trip.

What kind of trouble did he have? Does he have things squared away now? I just want to know if things are ok for him.

  20. I have to agree with B***, Those are magizine quality pics for sure. The one of the streemliner is cover material [IMG].

I think that he had generator troubles of it not charging and then he said that he about lost his fan into the radiator in the middle of nowhere.

I think that he just wanted to run 200 at Bonneville on the salt.

Have you ever checked the landracing.com site? Jon mentioned that his laptop was wireless this year and he was doing lots of updates.

Yeah.....Thacker/Shine just wanted to set a personal record. Nothing official or anything.....just a goal he set for himself. Very nice group of people on that race team. It was fun talking with them all.

Thanks for posting more photos in the Salt album. Much appreciated since this year I'm living vicariously thru photos posted on the HAMB. [IMG]

I checked out your other album there as well. I really like "Blakes" ride. Using a cam as a spreader bar, very novel. [IMG]

I'll keep my eye on your albums just in case you decide to share some more [IMG] Pretty please [IMG]

I've seen hundreds--if not thousands--of photos of hot rods on Bonneville salt with mountains in the background. You'd think that style of photo would get old, but it never does. *****in.
