But that wouldn't have worked because I didn't go to bed last night...Got home from work this morning, walked in the shop and saw this... I had left the car on the lift yesterday, relacing the right rear axle. Concerning the lift,I had been having some trouble with the safety latch on the left side post, been meaning to get around to fixing it. The safety latch didn't hold, and due to a leaking seal on the primary cylinder, it allowed the slave cylinder to bleed down, which dumped about a gallon of hydraulic fluid everywhere. That, with all the rearend dope that ran out added to the mess. Luckily, since it was a gradual process rather than a fall, there was no serious damage, just a tweaked lakes pipe and rocker molding. Moral of the story...if you have a lift, make sure the damn safety latches are working!
You are damn lucky you came away with just a little bit of damage, would be a damn shame had it been worse. I dig your car, so fix your lift!! Greg
WOW! Man, talk about lucky. That's the first full pic of yer ride I've seen, that is SWEET, even if at the wrong angle. BTW, I'm glad the event poster got to you OK (in the background), heh heh. Wow...
You are very lucky. I dropped a brand new 47 thousand dollar Suburban off the lift when I worked at the Chevy dealer. It did a lot of damage.
