Event Coverage some fun from the day of the drags 08

cruised up to my favorite place on the planet early Friday in the coupe.
all systems go, well the speedo quit working ? but it purs down the road
at 70 mph turning 2,000 rpm I love 6 speeds
took way too many pictures , and have been sent even more by some of the folks that we had a blast with so be pre warned

kinda ugly and flat on the way up

we hit salado for fiesta ware
and found a cool restoration type car show at the stage coach inn
there was some good hot rod materiel there and a dog they all looked at the hot rod weird

and yes I did do a burnout in front of the place with a little third gear scratch...

 

this is why DW did not race , he put the stock hood and wheels back on for the show this weekend

ya gotta stop at the cool gas station in Salado

we caught up with a big truck with nothing but gold chains I`m guessing
they are headed to skotz for the next deuce reunion`s gold chain competition !

had the wheels balanced at the discount tire in temple those guy`s rule !
and yea you can drink beer there .

made it to the hotel this was cool

we had fun not bad for a Friday night, bigblockmama`s coupe

sat morning sunrise I could have slept till noon, but the drags are calling
I gave a wake up call to every one in the hotel with the headers uncapped
skotz got in real late from the track,after blowing up the rear end
must be getting faster he sure is breaking alot of stuff.

this is the guy that made it to the final round with me last year but red lighted
I did not get a chance to rub it in last year so I did it this weekend









doc lost a brake lining and a fuel pump early on ya better fix that thing so
I can break it ?

OK in the trash talking post before the race lux was jabbing at me saying he wanted to see the race against Casey and his wife, well I whopped Debra`s ass the first race ? and the time she red lighted
then she started driving better then lux and whopped my but the rest of the weekend it was fun racing with ya ! I bet we went down the track 6 or 8 times ? all I saw was red and a middle finger when she passed me. hahaha...and I like the new hamb name . Ass By Peterbilt

well I got my wish ! some one to race me in the flathead class
a neat little track T that was running 15.60`s perfect. this should be a close race, nice guy and he`s not afraid to race it




left him at the light stayed in it , and could not see him when I looked around in forth? he stayed in my blind spot till the finish line
close race he ran a 15.93 I ran a 15.74 that was fun

this model A that was pitted next to us got sideways a few times then hit the wall pretty hard. broke the cast Axel but he was OK


OK that was fun won Flathead and made 19 passes starting to be a fun weekend back to the parking lot party......quick before some one sobers up ?

 

Looked like a good time! Wish I could have been there. I was in spirit by sending cookies and sandwiches! LOL

Next year... I'm there!

back at the track let`s see, last night doc wanted to see if I could shift
his car any better then he had been shifting ?
I jumped all over it ! and this would be a way to get a 100 mph patch
drove it around to get used to it and got scolded by willie for doing
a launch on the pit side of the ticket booth god dam that thing
will melt the tires off and get all squirrelie I like it
ya have to ease in to it unlike mine where I just floor it and go !
sorry willie. he warned me the next time it`s a $500 dollar fine
but I guess it`s OK on the other side



the car felt good the track felt great just not sticky they were not spraying vht I don`t see what any one is complaining about ?
had a .3320 light and ran a 12.67 @ 105.78 not bad for a first run in a new car,
then Debra did not want to race me ? funny how that works
when the 2 second`s are on the other side . hahaha
got a patch and norm and Reggie said they lost all respect for me driving a big block Chevy around, I said it was a rental

stopped by base camp and was shaking leg`s quivering dam that was a rush never been 105 on a track before
doc said now go make another pass now that you have a feel for the car
OK....
It went bang and did not move on the second launch
I blowed up docs car ?
I felt really bad but doc would not let me, tried to pay for part`s he would not let me. I think it broke a tooth or two off the ring gear ?
thank`s doc for letting me get a patch, and blow up your car,
you are a great friend. I offered him my car to make some passes or to blow it up and he would not take It.
