Had the door to the shop closed yesterday...a bit cold and wet in the N. Dallas area.....a couple of "junkers" showed at the door...wanted to know if I would buy the car on the trailer or send it on to the s****pers..walked out and saw this 55 Chevy with a 56 Ford front end on it...not a window left in it...but had been looking for a 56 Ford headlite rim to use for a clock...bought the entire mess ..frame on the Chevy is trashed in the front...doors, quarters, decklid good...anyone with a 4 door looking? Will get the rest of the 56 Ford Victoria later next week. More junk for the collection. Mark
The rear end of a 4dr 57? That would be perfect to build one of those fancy couches. Those things sell for silly money. Living in Frisco, you bound to find some rich guy around there that would dig it. I've always wanted to build one. Or, you build a trick smoker. Mount it to the outside wall of a barn and what looks like open barn doors and the rest of the car in the background with the rearend sticking out. The trunklid would become the lid to your cooker. I just hate to see a 4 dr completely go to waste so I've contemplated some uses for them in the past.
Rocket...I just got this thing on Friday and may have a 56 Victoria coming also...both are rough looking, but sound. More interested in trades, if you or friends are interested, call me...we are just out of The Colony, 6miles north off 423. I am also looking 4 a 4 door to use this on. Doing a 60 Plymouth wagon soon, 4 to 2 door drag car project for a customer in Houston. Strange happenings...not necessarily doing "street" work here, but in the last few months have swapped the 396 out of a 55 into a 4 door 56 and am nearing completion of a blown 540 for the 55. Another "streeter" was the installation of a 440 into a 55 Plymouth. We specialize in Nostalgia Super Stock racing and are busy with a couple of altered wheelbase 65 Dodges and engine builds, but it all pays the bills. Have owned 13 55 Chevys in the past...long time ago...was always wanting another and have found a nice Nomad, but if the "new car" sits here long enough....ya never know...it ain't that bad off.
