Some more twin engine questions

  1. If oyu're gonna do it, do it right with V8s. SBCs won't cost you any more, besides, the V6s I've heard sound crappy when they're loud.

My orginal plan was to try to get 12 cylinders out of this deal. I'd like to stay with smaller engines beacuse I don't want 600 hp necessarily. I just like the look of the two engines. I've looked at the V6 from GM Performance, what are the advantages of going with the V6 in general? Would there be some other smaller and lighter engines with decent gas milage that I could look at? I do agree that the V8s would be kick ass, but I think it will be a ton of weight and performance that I don't even want. I also want to make sure they are carburated and not overly expensive. This car will be driven around, not raced.

on a end to end configuration the weak point is the rear engines crank snout.

  4. Hang on, you want this for a street car?? Thats wildly impractical, this sort of setup is only good for short hops, say 1/4 mile at a time. The amount of finesse in tuning (Required very often) two motors coupled together alone makes this very non user friendly!
If it were that easy you would see them around. There is a reason no one runs twin motors on the street.
