Great pics. The corduroy road in Oregon, wonder if it's the one that was said to be the longest in the world. It went from Sandy to Gresham. About 10-12 miles. A corduroy road was slabs of lumber laid down in the mud so you could drive. Kind of like a sidewalk. They would keep adding slab wood as the wood would sink into the mud. They had a crew maintain it with horse and wagon. In the early days it was said the only way to see was to look up, because there was so much timber around here. I have been a part of the Sandy Historical Society and have seen pictures of the corduroy roads. Thanks for sparking my memory.
