a while ago I started talking to an old guy about hotrods. He liked mine and said he had a few. I asked if he meant in the past and he politely said, "no, now... well, and in the past." His garage has a few gems in it including a full fendered 34 three window and this sweetheart. They never get driven. Go figure. Bob, where are you?
My dad died of Cancer a few years ago, I bet he's hanging out in a garage just like this right now somewhere.
I know exactly what you mean man. I stopped once at a simple and plain looking shop in Stephenville and the guy had a '34 roadster he was working on with a later flattie, 3x2, sharp heads and more. You never know where you'll find these things.
Gooch it was great you got to see his stuff, old car people are neat, doesn't matter he doesn't drive them, the fact that he has them is a great thing
Damn, that car is text book perfect. Maybe the guy needs a younger friend like you to get him motivated to drive his hotrods. Invite him to go go somewhere with you sometime.

[/ QUOTE ] You're absolutly right, he and my ol' man are probably argueing about his injectors right this minute. Now you got a big task. Convince your new found friend that driving them is better than hideing them.
Gooch Man, thanks for posting these finds! I have pictures of that original black roadster you posted a few months back etched in my brain...

[/ QUOTE ] While I would agree that driving them is much more fun than squirrelling them away in a garage somewhere, there are a lot of guys out there who build cars purely for the fun of creating something and never drive them.I know of one person in particular who resides in the Boston area that builds some of the most fantastic cars you will ever see. Some he sells as soon as they are finished(to finance another project)and some are relegated to his garage(s).He works mostly alone and does other people's cars to pay the bills. He has also been profiled in Street Rodder awhile back but doesn't build high tech cars;rather he builds "unique" cars.Every one I have ever seen from him is different;some I love and others;well it is different, but one thing is for sure they are all him!His garage is very unassuming and hidden away in a residential section of town atop a hill and even I have driven past it mistakenly. Those lucky enough to have been inside marvel at the assemblage of rare and vintage pieces(if they don't break their necks tripping over them). Is it sad that he doesn't drive many of his creations?Maybe for us because we rarely get to appreciate them.Does he enjoy building them?Without a doubt! And I guess that's what this hobby(obsession)is all about. His name? I don't think it's necessary. If you're an East Coast rodder, you probably know who I'm referring to and we'll leave it at that.

When I hear or read the word "hot rod"... That's the exactly the kind of car that comes in my mind!!! Awesome!
