1952-59 Ford Some progress on my 54...

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by 54 ford coupe, Jun 13, 2021.

  1. I've been slowly getting the FE ready to run and done nothing else on the car. Until I thought how much space in my shed the back seats were taking up and realised they would be better off in the car. Inspired by a story I was told recently about the car I gave them a scrub first and wow, they came up great!

  2. So the story is, a mate who is older than me, remembers seeing this interior fresh from the upholster before it went into the car. This was early 70's, he knew the owner of the car, and it was one afternoon after school.
The same mate went on to become a motor trimmer, and did his trade under the bloke who did my car. Small world!!

Those cleaned up pretty good. Look like new seat covers.

Nice! Do you have wheels to go with the sticker in the back window?

  5. No I don't, but I do have a photo of when it did......
I'm going to run black steelies at this stage. Maybe with original caps or some other Ford dog dishes.
Still looking at rear wheel offset but havent got too far into that yet.

  6. Pretty amazed, I used tyre foam as I had a can handy and a brush, 35+ years of **** came out.
